Equine Athlete Management

This workshop presentation will focus on:

• Anti-doping and the effects of common drug use.
• Current research on overuse and impact injuries.
• Current research on equine athlete management, welfare, and training to peak for injury prevention.

This will be a presentation-style workshop, with time for questions and discussions after the material has been presented.

The presenter is Dr. Brianne Henderson of Rivendell Equine Veterinary Services.

Dr. Bri grew up on a horse farm in Southern Ontario where her parents bred, developed and trained Arabian and Half-Arabian Sport horses. She credits her experience at the University of Edinburgh’s R(D)SVS, her early mentorship and the continued support of her Rood and Riddle internship family to her success and love of the job! Dr. Bri’s passion for the health and development of the equine athlete led her to becoming board-certified in Equine Sports Medicine and Injury Rehabilitation.
