Ontario Equestrian Western Evaluation Day Preparation Clinic

Do you want more preparation for your upcoming evaluation to become a certified Western Instructor or Competition Coach?  This clinic is a great opportunity for those wishing to become certified and for current Western Instructors and Coaches to train as Mentors. When you have completed the prerequisites for your instructor or coach certification and as a final preparation for your evaluation day, consider attending this clinic.

The clinic will simulate aspects of the evaluation day certification process.  The day starts with an overview of the Western Instructor and Coach Rubrics, with a review of the Emergency Action Plan and the written Lesson Plans.  Candidates will have 20 minutes, as in the evaluation, to teach their lesson topics.  The evaluator will provide feedback and guide discussion.  There will be lunging demonstrations for each coaching context and the day will close out with questions.

Many instructor and coach candidates have reflected that attending this clinic allowed them to test their lesson plans and obtain feedback and either confirm their confidence that they were ready to move forward to the evaluation, or identify areas where they could improve their skills toward a successful evaluation day.

NCCP Make Ethical Decisions - Evaluation

Making Ethical Decisions(MED) is a cornerstone of the NCCP, and leaves coaches with no doubt as to what to do when the going gets tough. The MED online evaluation provides the opportunity to apply the skills learned in the workshop to real-life situations. By successfully completing the MED evaluation, you will have demonstrated the ability to handle virtually any ethical situation with confidence and surety.

Upon completing the MED evaluation, you'll be able to:

  • analyze a challenging situation and determine if it has moral, legal or ethical implications; and
  • apply the NCCP Ethical Decision Making Model to properly respond to each situation in a way that is consistent with the NCCP Code of Ethics

THIS COURSE IS HOSTED ON AN EXTERNAL SITE
In order to complete this evaluation, you must login to "The Locker", the Coaching Association of Canada's coaching database and eLearning platform.

IMPORTANT: Coaches that have completed the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions training, and have it listed on their transcript, will have FREE unlimited access to the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation. A fee of $85 will apply for coaches who have not taken the training and choose to go directly to the evaluation.
