NCCP Competition Development: High Performance 1, Jumping


Equestrian Canada's NCCP High Performance 1 (Competition Development) Coach is an advanced certification for coaches working with competitive athletes in the Learn to Compete, Train to Compete stages of development aspiring to compete internationally.  This certification is also relevant for coaches working with athletes in the Competitive for Life stage of athlete development. 

 

Equestrian Canada's NCCP High Performance 1 (Competition Development) Coach are evaluated on their ability to:

  • develop competition skills to advance the competitive athlete’s performance, 
  • design developmentally appropriate programming for LTED stages Learn to Compete, Train to Compete and Competitive for Life, and successfully prepares athletes who wish to progress to Learn to Win and Train to Win stages,
  • introduce athletes to competing in team environments, developing the right technical, tactical, physiological and mental performance skills in preparation for international competition environments.

 

This certification focuses on the preparation of athletes and horses for Jumping events.  To complete the certification you must be an EC Registered or Licenced Coach and have access to horse/rider combinations who are competing in FEI Youth Divisions OR 1.30m jumping OR 1.10m Hunter or Equitation.

 

It is strongly recommended that coaches complete the recommended training listed below prior to applying to complete certification.  You must register with Equestrian Canada in order to engage in the evaluation phase of this certification.  For more information please contact Anna Johnson, Manager, Sport Development at ajohnson@equestrian.ca
